Bilbao BBK Live is ready to welcome more than 100,000 attendees.

Goxua’n Salsa will kick off the festival with a concert at 1:30 p.m. in Sala BBK and the music will continue until Sunday, July 10.

Today, Wednesday the 6th, the Akelarre stage will greet festival campers with a welcome party from DJs Manci and GAZZI

Festival goers will enjoy unique performances from LCD Soundsystem, Stromae, The Killers, M.I.A. and J Balvin

Just 24 hours before opening the festival doors, the Kobetamendi fields and the city of Bilbao are ready to receive the more than 100,000 attendees expected. This new edition of the festival has been selected as one of the must-see events of the summer by several guides and publications of international prestige. Twelve stages will be responsible for hosting more than 100 artists who will leave it all on the floor for the celebration of the festival’s fifteenth edition on July 7, 8, and 9. And after two years of hiatus, this year’s event will be very special not only because of the built-up enthusiasm, but also because of what we will see on stage. Both will make the wait worthwhile and will turn Kobetamendi into a special place where you’ll want to return every year to witness unique and unforgettable performances.

This year, there will be surprises and immense performances—as indicated by the more than six trailers in tow for bands like Stromae and Pet Shop Boys, the special effects that will amaze crowds attending The Killers, and the dance group that will accompany both Latin and world idol J Balvin.

Akelarre, the witches’ festival on Mount Arraiz

Today, Mount Arraiz receives the first campers with a welcome party on the Akelarre stage with DJs Manci and GAZZI, starting at 8 p.m. and continuing until one o’clock in the morning.

Music will sound every day of the festival, featuring various masters on the decks: Alvva, Amaia Yaniz, Clock Poets and Tronis on Thursday; the endless madness of the collective l’Empordà—made up of Nile Fee, Daniel 2000, JP Sunshine, and John Heaven—will take the reins of the campsite with their set Mainline Magic Mindfulness on Friday; and on Saturday, electronic music will fill the campsite with DJ Toccororo, the collective Karne Kulture, Manines, and the trio of DJs from Granada b2bbs

Bilbao BBK Live 2022 kicks off

The festival kicks off in the city center tomorrow with a performance from the Colombian-Navarrese orchestra Goxua’n Salsa, in Sala BBK at 1 p.m. Kobetamendi will open its doors at 5 p.m.—as it will also do on Friday and Saturday—offering concerts that will accompany the unparalleled sunset from the San Miguel stage, the live performances that will serve as the heartbeat of the night on the Nagusia stage, the most famous dance floor between the trees of the Basoa stages, and the space of slow tempos Lasai. And starting tomorrow, Thursday the 7th, tickets will be available at the festival site for the next edition of Bilbao BBK Live, which will take place on July 6, 7, and 8, 2023.

Beyond the music, attendees will be able to enjoy the best selection of gastronomic options for all tastes and dietary needs from different food stands, as well as a stand with exclusive festival merchandise from the Bilbao BBK Live x Kappa collection.

The festival atmosphere is already vibrant throughout the city. Festival wristbands have been distributed to more than 2,500 of the 100,000 attendees expected this weekend. Wristbands can be collected at Sala BBK, and starting today, new collection points will be set up in San Mamés and BEC!, both which will be open from 10 a.m. until 2 a.m.

This influx in the city is also being noticed in the reservations of the new bus service that the Organization has launched this year for those attendees with a lot of foresight, offering the possibility to reserve your spot to head up to the festival. This service will be available from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. for €1.50. The bus departs from Calle Felipe Serrate and spots are limited. The first few hours are the busiest, which are already at 75% occupancy, but there are still spots available.

The media interested in the festival is more present this year than ever before. This is proven by the more than 450 journalists from over 20 countries who have already arrived to cover the events in the Biscayan capital over the next three days.

The organization of Bilbao BBK Live is especially grateful for the support of the Bilbao City Council which, together with the sponsors and collaborating institutions, make this event possible.
