Massive attendance at the preview of the festival confirms our crowds’ desire to enjoy Bilbao BBK Live again. Four stages and 23 artists delighted the public with the most diverse and eclectic talent.

For the fifth consecutive year, Hirian brought a celebration of culture and diversity that served as a meeting point for all music lovers. Samantha Hudson, Aviador Dro, Albany, Sex Museum and many more artists lined the most represented streets of Bilbao’s Santutxu neighborhood with performances, giving a taste of what’s to come at the Bilbao BBK Live festival. Hirian, which means ‘in the city’ in Basque, featured an extensive program faithful to the avant-garde spirit of Bilbao—a city that is full of character and creativity, and that is constantly evolving.

The spirit of the festival was felt throughout the streets from the early hours of the day—at times even overflowing—featuring performances from Samantha Hudson with her extravagant showcase Liquidación Total; the pioneering revolutionary spirit of local electronic music from the legendary Aviador Dro; the sharp group Kokoshca; and the contagious energy from Plasaporros. The sincere lyrics and accelerated rhythms of Albany, the trans-Mediterranean sound experimentation of Za! y la Transmegacobla, and the generational sounds of the youthful MDA and HOFE x 4:40 were other milestones of this fifth edition of Hirian.

Saturday was the showcase of the magical cohesion of artists and the public of Hirian. A festive, urban, and itinerant day that, in addition to bringing the spirit of the long-awaited Bilbao BBK Live to the city, seeks to bring talent and culture to all audiences. Hirian is a free-admission block party with music, culture, and diversity as its axis, and is supported by the Bilbao City Council and Cervezas San Miguel.
