BIME CONSOLIDATES THE BRIDGE BETWEEN LATIN AMERICA AND EUROPE WITH A SECOND ANNUAL EVENT IN COLOMBIA

Bilbao will be the European site of the International Music Industry Event in October, and from 2022 onward, Bogota will be the Latin American location every April.

BIME, TWO ESSENTIAL MUSIC EVENTS EVERY YEAR: BILBAO-BIZKAIA AND BOGOTA

BIME´s Latin American dates will take place in Bogota in April annually to think about the challenges that are ushering in the future of the industry and the enjoyment of live music. Every year since 2013, Bilbao has hosted this event in October and starting in 2022 so will be Bogota in the month of April. Thus, Bilbao and Bogota will become the center of innovation, technology, networking, and the future of this industry.

It was not by chance that the city of Bogota was selected. The Colombian capital is a vibrant city that exudes music (it is a part of the UNESCO Music Cities Network) and has for many years displayed great economic and political sensitivity toward the Orange Economy that is, the activities that result in creative goods or services in the scope of the arts and heritage, cultural and creative industries, and new technologies. In addition to the city’s privileged location within Latin America, it has the infrastructure to host an event of this scale. Furthermore, Colombia is home to an increasing number of artists who are successful worldwide.

With this announcement BIME reaffirms its commitment to establishing alternatives paths in the music industry to facilitate and multiply the artistic and professional bonds between Latin America and Europe, giving rise to opportunities for growth, both economic, cultural, and relational for artists, professionals, companies, and audiences directly or indirectly related to music. All of which are naturally based on the common language spoken by 600 million people.
