Last Tour’s goal is to be a great independent sustainable organization that aims to create, build, and develop cultural and social initiatives that contribute to society’s well-being and development

After a rigorous evaluation and verification process, this recognition is given to companies that are shown to be leaders in their economic, social, and environmental commitments

Last Tour becomes the leading B Corp music promoter in Europe

Last Tour has just become a B Corp by complying with high standards in terms of social and environmental performance, transparency, and corporate responsibility. The festival joins the B Corp community and can be found among leading companies. These companies form part of a global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy, which is transforming the global economy to benefit all people and the planet.

This recognition has been the culmination of a rigorous two-year analysis and evaluation process that only 4% of companies who are evaluated by the B Corp standards manage to achieve. Some key factors carried out during the festival have helped reach these standards. They are, among others, reducing the environmental impact through a strict waste reduction and recycling system, promoting sustainable transport, and prevention and awareness programs against sexual assaults and for gender equality. Last Tour is also known for hiring local teams and maximizing its social and cultural impact by providing free concerts. These qualities make it a hallmark nationally and internationally when it comes to searching for radical collaboration opportunities and connecting companies, institutions, universities, and citizens with the result of collective projects that have an international impact. The festival has positively contributed to the community, it is worth highlighting its civic commitment and the donations made from the festivals to projects to support migrants, reforestation, and the Food Bank. In addition to these, there are initiatives to support people who work in the live music industry during the pandemic and the economic impact on the city of Bilbao.

Last Tour’s goal is to be a great independent sustainable organization that aims to create, build, and develop cultural and social initiatives that contribute to society’s well-being and development.

The values and ethical principles of a B Corp can be seen in all Last Tour‘s business units and offices currently present in Spain, Portugal, and Colombia, with organization-wide awareness in terms of horizontality, collaboration, flexibility, inclusion, and parity. The process of becoming B Corp has enabled all Last Tour’s business units and departments to align with the 2030 Agenda, the 17 Sustainable Development Goals, and the United Nations Global Compact.

The CEO of Last Tour, Alfonso Santiago, stressed that the goal of the company is “to be a cultural and social activist, whose pillars are creativity and innovation, with the aim of contributing to the cultural development and co-creation of a society to which we feel committed” and “it is a great responsibility for us to be the cultural and creative industry’s hallmark B Corp, thus recognizing the work we have been developing for the last 20 years”. He also stated, “this encourages us to maintain high standards of commitment and to continually revisit our goal of social transformation and to develop a business plan that is economically viable by acting proactively and responsibly in those territories where we are present.”

Last Tour thus becomes the hallmark musical promoter B Corp in Europe, given the clear and concise commitment to environmental and social performance made by the business’s management group, a commitment which is included in a new clause in the company’s bylaws.

What is B Corp?

B Corp is a global movement of people who use the strength of business to solve the 21st century’s social and environmental problems. Unlike companies that pursue only economic ends, B Corp companies – today more than 6,000 worldwide – meet verified high standards of social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability. These companies are transforming the economy and helping to redefine the meaning of entrepreneurial success: success measured by the well-being of people, communities, and the planet; thereby making all companies compete to be not only the best in the world; but above all to be the best for the world. In Spain, there are more than 200 B Corps. Among them, we find companies in the food sector like Danone and Veritas, in fashion Ecoalf, Camper, and Patagonia, in banking Triodos Bank, and in energy Hola Luz, among many others.
